It’s a new year. Time for resolutions, life changes, rejuvenation. How about some everyday tips for the “simple” things in life? Here a just a few I’d like to share.
FAITH
Pray everyday
Wait on GOD
Listen to GOD
Tithe every week
Read a couple of scripture verses from the Bible everyday
Go to church every Sunday
Go to Bible study regularly
Go to Sunday School regularly
Become an active of your church
Bring a new friend to church as often as possible
LANGUAGE SKILLS
There is a difference between slang, accents and improper English (poor grammar)
Although spoken often, these are NOT words
Seentit, Lernt, Finna, Kilt
These sounds are not pronounced the same
shr, scr, str (as in shrimp, screw, street)
Certain words are thought to be interchangeable.
However they are NOT (because the have different meanings). See below.
Killed, Kilt
Ax, Ask,
There, Their & They’re
Congregate & Conjugate
Converse & Conversate (conversate isn’t a word)
Certain words are often mispronounced. See below.
“Look-did” , “Like-did”, & Skin-did are NOT words
The past tense of hurt is hurt. Hur-did is not a word
In English the letter T is not silent
ETIQUETTE
Say please and thank you (this is for adults too)
Hold your thought when someone is speaking ( I need to work on this)
Always knock on a closed door
Never eaves drop (you may find out something you did not want to know)
Practice random acts of kindness
Hold the door for the person behind you
If you can, merge to the left to allow for traffic merging onto the interstate, highway, freeway
Let the person with a handful of items go ahead of your full basket at the store
Don’t gossip
Don’t share private business on facebook

Say I love you everyday
Forgive
Think before you speak

Game night
Eat together (at the table)
SELF AWARENESS
Spend some alone time with yourself
Meditate at least 10 minutes a day
Exercise at least 30 minutes a day
